John Browne Sr b-1626 Eng arrived on Isle of Wight, VA about 1660 on a ship owned by William Boddie. John was a shipwright. John married widow Bridgett Lewis about 1661.

John Browne Jr b-1650 Eng, arrived with his father on the Isle of Wight, VA in 1660. About 1670 he married Mary Boddie, daughter of William Boddie. John Sr, John Jr and their families moved to NC early 1700s.

Howell Brown b-1710 Chowan, NC married Jane Hart in 1730 in NC.

William Howell Brown b-1749 Jones, NC married Esther Randal in 1774 in NC. About 1780 he moved his family to Williamsburg, SC.
