Our progenitor of this Brown family either: left Rhode Island or Mass. and went to New Brunswick, Canada, with other British Loyalists in 1783; or came directly to Canada from (probably) Scotland.Descendants of these Loyalists relocated to New England and other states near the Canadian boarder (such as Michigan) in 2d-half 19th century to work and stayed (my great-grandfather); some saved their money and moved back. The common ancestor that Marvin Brown and I share:
Stephen Brown born ca. 1795 New Brunswick, Canada, or Scotland; died 4 June 1856 Fairview, New Brunswick, Canada; married Eunice Macumber born 21 June 1793 Newport, Nova Scotia; died St. Martins, New Brunswick.
